Life In Progress

Apologies that I only seem to update this poor site annually... most of my life these days seems to be documented over here: https://www.facebook.com/celticelff --but you have to have an account and be a friend to read it, so contact me if you're interested or need help with that.

August 2011: Fiona is home! And promptly has a week of band camp where she blistered up both her hands playing four mallets on the marimba. She does well though and we enjoy the Marching Band performance on the 6th along with a pot luck (note to self: fried chicken gets eaten faster than you think). Both kids will be starting school- one her senior year (eep!) and the other, first grade. Uh-oh, that means the pocketbook is going to take a serious hit from both school supplies and back-to-school clothes shopping. Husband tells me I should stop feeding them so they'll stop growing.

June/July 2011: Our son is finally seen by Denver's Children's Hospital and is diagnosed with ADHD and doesn't have enough symptoms to be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, although he has a few Autistic-type behaviors. Therapy and a psychiatrist is recommended, along with an EEG to make sure he isn't having absence seizures, and checking for a bladder infection. Currently his EEG is scheduled for the end of August.

May 2011: Toby graduates from kindergarten! For a while there we weren't sure if his behavior problems were going to have him either expelled or repeating kindergarten, but the combination of Risperdol and Intuniv medications have made a huge difference in all our lives.

April 2011: Jennifer is laterally promoted to "Sales and Marketing Coordinator", which is a lot like herding cats. Also, I've been with my employer for about six years now.

September 2010: Kitty Sapphire passes away due to a sudden kidney failure.

26 February, 2010: I did finally graduate Summa Cum Laude with my BS in Technical Management, emphasis in Project Management. I am very proud that I finally met that goal and am grateful to my family (spouse and kids, specifically) in helping me reach that goal.

December 2009: Puppy Merlin, an English Springer Spaniel, joins the household.

Hope everyone is well and warm, and you're always welcome to shoot me off an email. You know it ;)

celticelff, at gmail.com (no, leave the comma off, you silly goose)

much love and gratitude, to all who walk through my virtual home-
